BRVM COMPOSITE INDEX SLIDES LOWER

The BRVM closed it fixing session on Tuesday, July 7, 09 slightly than the previous session. The BRVM composite index lost 1.06 percent, dropping from 140.55 to 139.06 points. The BRVM 10 index closed at 146.68 points down 1.37 percent.

The value of the transactions was 98.01million CFA Francs (GH˘ 1,515,136) compared to the 30.95 millions CFA Francs (GH˘ 99,040) reported for last session. The trading involved 211,647 securities which involved 11 of 39 listed companies listed on the Stock exchange valued at 571.48 million CFA Francs (GH˘ 1,828,736). On the bond market, 609 bonds were traded for a total value of 6.09million CFA Francs (GH˘ 19, 488) not counting accrued coupons.

The stock market capitalization was 2.9 trillion CFA Francs (GH˘9.2 billion) and that of the bond market rose to 538.80 million CFA Francs (GH˘ 1,724 billion).
