Zain talks over the sale of African Operations

Zain talks over the sale of African Operations

Zain, Kuwait’s biggest mobile telephony company is in talks with three international telecommunications companies over the sale of its African operations.  Talks with the three companies, one of which is an Indian firm, may result in “serious negotiations” leading to the partial or complete sale of Zain’s African assets.  This was disclosed by Saad al-Barrak, Chief Executive Officer of Zain.  Zain values the assets at about 10 billion USD, three people familiar with the plans said in June.
